What is brain tumor?

A brain tumor is basically collection of abnormal cells in your brain. Your skull enclose your brain which is very hard. Any growth inside such a restricted space causes problems.

Symptoms and causes of brain tumor:

       
          These signs and symptoms of brain tumor depend upon the size , location and growth rate in your brain. 

Symptoms:


1: New onset or change in pattern of headaches.

2: Headache that gradually become more frequent and more severe.

3: Vision problems ,such as double vision  blurred vision or lose of peripheral vision.

4: Unexplained nausea, or  vomiting.

5: Difficulty with balance.

6: Speech problem.

7: Graudual lose of sensation pr movement in an arm or a leg.

8: Confusion in everyday matters.

9: Personality or behaviour changes.

10: Seizures,especially in someone who doesn't have history seizures.



Causes:


  Primary brain tumor originate in the brain itself or in tissues close to it , such as in the brain covering membrane ,cranial nerves,pituitary gland and pineal gland.
Primary brain tumor begins normal cells acquire errors in their DNA.

These mutations allow cells to grow and divide at increased rate and to continue living with healthy cells would die. The result in a mass of abnormal cells , which forms a tumor.


Many different types of primary brain tumor exist. Each gets its name from the type of cells involve.


Example;


■  Gliomas:
                     These tumors begains in a brain or in spinal cord & include astrocytomas,
ependymoma,  glioblastomas, 
Oligoastrocytomas ,and oligodendrogliomas....


Meningioma:
                            A meningioma is a tumor that arises from the membranes that surround your brain and spinal cord .
Most meningioma are noncanceriou.....

■ Pituitary adenoma:

                          These are mostly benign tumors that develop in the pituitary gland at the base of the brain. These tumors can affect the pituitary hormones with effect through the body.

■ PNET:

              Primitive neuro-ectodermal  tumorare  rare cancerous tumor that start in embryonic cells in the brain .

They can occur anywhere in the brain.


Things you should know about brain tumor?


● There are mainly 130 types of brain tumor. 


● Around 10900 people's in the U.K are diagnosed  with brain tumor every year.


● Rate of diesese have increased since 1970s.


● Brain tumour rate increase with age,but unlike most other cancers,occur relatively frequently across all age groups.


● Brain tumour is the second most common cancer in the children's accounting for a more then a quater of all cases. 


● The most common symptoms are headaches and fits (seizures).

But brain tumors are rare and there are much more common reasons for these symptoms .

● There is no strong evidence of any link between mobile phone and tumors.


● Have no evidence that power lines, alcohol and head injuries are linked to brain tumor.


● Brain tumour can be treated with 

       □ surgery 
       □ chemotherapy 
       □ radiotherapy 

Brain tumour are huge challenge but we will tackle them.

What is color blindness? Color blindness is not actually a type of blindness but it is a deficiency in the way you see colours . With this vision problem you face difficulties in dustenguish between two different colours.
